Bikash Ranjan Bhattacharya an advocate of the highest rank in the Calcutta High Court and the CPI-M Rajya Sabah member, said that such events are not new since 2011 , the year that the Trinamool Congress came to power in West Bengal.
“Other judges have also made similar threats in the past. This development shows at the extent to which the law and order scenario in West Bengal has deteriorated,” he said.
Senior counsel of Calcutta High Court, Kaushik Gupta, said the case is proof of the severity of the case as well as the “desperation” that is associated with the case.
“The police need to investigate the case and determine who is the person responsible for displaying the same apprehension toward a respected judge,” he said.
