New Delhi, Aug 23 : BJP chief J.P.Nadda on Tuesday condemned the detention of the party’s Telangana unit president and Lok Sabha member Bandi Sanjay Kumar and stated that they would fight the democratic process and ensure in the upcoming elections Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) and K.Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) will be eliminated.
Telangana BJP President Kumar was detained on Tuesday.His attempts to gather in protest against the attack on workers of the party were stopped by police.
In a string of tweets Nadda declared: “I strongly condemn the illegal arrest of our @bjp4Telangana State president @bandisanjay_ TRS Gov.KCR is concerned by the overwhelming support BJP receives from all parts of the state in opposition to his corrupt and family-centric regime.”
“We will fight for democracy and make sure that in the upcoming elections TRS & KCR will be completely eliminated,” Nadda added.
Kumar was detained prior to the start of his planned sit-in demonstration in Jangaon district in protest against the police action of the previous day against his party’s workers.
After BJP activists intervened in to stop police from detaining Kumar early this morning, the atmosphere grew into a tense.However, the police who were deployed in large numbers were able to remove the BJP leader away, even when his supporters tried to block the route at various points along the route.
The BJP in Telangana has been targeting TRS leadership and the daughter of Telangana Chief Minister K.Kavita over her claims of involvement in the liquor policy debate that has caused a rift in the AAP government in Delhi.
On the morning of Monday, police arrested a number of BJP employees from various sections after they protested outside Kavita’s residence on the issue.
earlier in the day, in the morning, in a string of tweets Kumar stated: “Strongly condemn TS police for registering an instance of attempted murder of BJP leaders who protested at the home of the daughter of CM KCR Kalvakuntla Kavitha in the morning, demanding an explanation to the accusations in the liquor fraud.There is a clear indication that TRS goons have assaulted BJP members.”
“Democracy allows protests however, the this case of attempted murder of BJP leaders was carried out based on the instructions of the Chief Minister’s office.The practice of keeping activists and leaders who are seriously injured in the police station without giving treatment to police is the most inhumane thing.”
Kumar demanded that injured BJP leaders be admitted to hospitals immediately and receive the best medical care.”BJP isn’t afraid of police cases or assaults from TRS goons.The truth about the liquor scam needs to be exposed.A strict stance must be taken regardless of who the culprits are.” Kumar said.
He declared that the party would engage in agitation throughout the state in protest of the assault by the police as well as TRS Goons BJP workers.
