New Delhi, Aug 21 : Smartphone users across the globe including in India are slowly moving towards spending at least six hours every day using apps.People in Indonesia as well as Singapore have achieved a staggering 5.7 hours per day on mobile.
In India the smartphone users in India used their devices the equivalent of 4.7 hours every day in 2021, an increase from 4.5 hours in 2020 and 3.7 hours in 2019.

In the quarter ending June (Q2) this year Indian smartphone users in the average spent more than four hours a day using apps according to research conducted by the mobile App Annie, a platform for app analytics.

“The massive gains in the attention of consumers gained during lockdowns have not diminished since the physical world has reopened.

In fact, smartphone users have increased their the time they spend on their phones,” said the report.

The data shows that users in three different markets (Indonesia, Singapore, Brazil) are now spending more than five hours per day in apps.

“Meanwhile users in 13 regions (Indonesia, Singapore, Brazil, Mexico, Australia, India, Japan, South Korea, Canada, Russia, Turkey, the US and the UK) have now pledged to more than four hours of work per each day.” according to the report.

“The regions with high growth are particularly attractive.In the past two years, Singapore went from 4.1 to 5.7 hours.In Australia it went it went from 3.6 hours to 4.9.Both of these represent a 40 percent percentage increase in duration,” according to the report.

India was ranked second in the top 20 mobile market in the number of apps downloaded in 2021.This accounted for more than 27 billion downloads.

Smartphone users in the majority of countries witnessed an increase in the amount of time they spent on streaming video apps in 2021.
