New Delhi, Aug 19 : Legends League Cricket (LLC) on Friday confirmed the participation of former India opener Gautam Gambhir in the season two of the league, which starts on September 17.Left-handed Gambhir was well-known for his fast batting which has made him one of the most sought-after players across the three forms of the game in India.
“I am delighted to announce that I’ve signed up to participate in the coming Legends League Cricket from September 17th to September 17th.I am thrilled in the anticipation of being on the field of cricket again.It will be a pleasure and a pleasure to once more rub shoulders with the stars of the world of cricket.” Gambhir said.Gambhir about his association with LLC’s season two.

He was member of India’s World Cup winning teams in the first edition of the Men’s T20 World Cup in 2007 and the Men’s ODI World Cup in 2011.Gambhir is also renowned for being the highest-scoring player with 97 runs in the 2011 ODI World Cup final against Sri Lanka at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

Gambhir played for India in the 58 Tests, 37 T20Is and 147 ODIs and scored 6,170 runs in limited-overs cricket in addition to 4,154 Test run.He also led Kolkata Knight Riders to clinching two IPL titles in 2012 and the year 2014.

In the past few weeks the league has also added legendary players such as Chris Gayle, Harbhajan Singh, Virender Sehwag, Shane Watson, Brett Lee, Mohammad Kaif, Irfan Pathan, Muttiah Muralitharan, and Jacques Kallis amongst others.

The coming season of Legends League Cricket is being planned to take place in six Indian cities: Kolkata, New Delhi, Cuttack, Lucknow, Jodhpur and Rajkot.The league has also announced that an extra game between India Maharajas and World Giants will be played at Eden Gardens on September 16.

Former India captain and the current BCCI president Sourav Ganguly will lead India and the World Team will be captained by the World Cup-winning skipper of 2019 and former England white-ball captain Eoin Morgan.The 2nd season of LLC will begin from September 17 until October 8.
