Assam plans to send 1K of its students to Andaman and Nicobar Islands to learn about cellular prison

Guwahati 17 August : Guwahati, August 17 : Assam government will provide 1,000 students from the state for an education trip to Cellular jail in Andaman and Nicobar Islands, where several freedom fighters from several northeastern states were detained under the British rule the chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced on Wednesday.
The Chief Minister, while taking part in the debate in the special session of one day of Assam legislative assembly declared that a large number of freedom fighters hailing from Assam and other states in the northeast were detained in the cell prison.

The special session of one day of Assam assembly took place on the occasion of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.Sarma claimed that the “Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign” was a popular movement, Sarma said “we received an unprecedented reaction all over the entire state”.

Despite the boycott request made by extremist groups, there was spontaneous response and huge participation by the public on August 15 he added : “I have never witnessed such a massive participation in my entire life.”

For a smooth running of exams for the selection of employees in approximately 3000 Grade III and grade IV positions for various department of the state government the Chief Minister conducted an online meeting with the Deputy Commissioners and other officials on Wednesday.

As 14,30,337 candidates are expected to take part in the examinations for recruitment, the DCs must make sure to close any loopholes that could be present, he said.

The examinations for recruitment are scheduled for the 21st of August and 28, September 11 and September 11 The day of examination , the internet connection for 3 hours will be off.

The Chief Minister has also requested the District Superintendent of Police to keep their intelligence network operational in order to prevent any motive that could disrupt the process of examination.
