Yerevan 17 August : Armenia has declared Wednesday and Thursday as days of mourning for the victims of an explosion that occurred in a mall near the capital Yerevan earlier in the week.The decision was made public on the official site of the Armenian government, as reported by Xinhua news agency.
The death toll rose to 16, after rescue workers pulled more bodies from of the rubble of the buildings that had collapsed.
According to the authorities the authorities, a pregnant woman and an infant were among those killed.
Three people are still missing and seven remain in the hospital The authorities confirmed this and added that a rescue mission was ongoing.
An investigation is underway to determine the reason of the explosion on Sunday.
Minister of Emergency Situations Armen Pambukhchyan on Monday denied that the attack was carried out by terrorists.
According to the most recent investigations the blast took place in a warehouse in which fireworks were kept exploded at the wholesale facility which triggered an explosion of gas pipeline.
The three-storey building fell down.
The massive blast emitted massive clouds of smoke, and several buildings fell, triggering panic.
