Mysore 15th August : Aniruddha Joshi played blind with a half-century, hitting a the speed of lightning while Rishi Bopanna and Pradeep T.caused a lot of destruction with the ball.Bengaluru Blasters handed Mangalore United an 66-run defeat in the Maharaja Trophy T20 cricket tournament.Batting first with the bat, the Bengaluru Blasters saw L.R.Chethan (6) leave the field in a hurry prior to captain Mayank Agarwal took charge, together with Aneesh K.V.The India batter was the most vigorous of both, taking out his entire arsenal of shot during the powerplay.
Agarwal was all set to take a huge knock, but he He was dismissed by the bowler for 47 after 27 balls, after hitting three sixes and two fours.He and Aneesh played a solid 74-run stand which gave the team needed momentum.
Aneesh added 40 to the score while Shivkumar Rakshith added in with a nifty 34, pushing the total to 150 with a good pace.At the time Rakshith was dismissed, there was 190 in the range with Aniruddha Joshi golfing at the opposite end.
Aniruddha throws the kitchen sink to bowlers in the slog overs, and scored an impressive 23-ball fifty.He played an explosive knock that brought the Blasters to 191/4 in 20 overs according to a press announcement by the organizers.
After the break After the break, the Blasters were dominant as Mangalore’s batting line up fell very quickly.Macneil Noronha was dismissed for 5runs.
Nikin Jose scored 7, Aneeshwar Gautam was bundled off for one and Sujay Sateri got 8 .The Blasters dropped four wickets in the powerplay.Captain Samarth R.seemed to have found his rhythm but he was unable to do much at the other side.
Samarth however, was unable to get 32 runs, while Abhinav Manohar contributed 23 to show some resiliency.Muralidhara Venkatesh got dismissed for two after the Blasters continued to tighten their noose, winning by 66 runs.
