Ahmedabad 15 August : Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel made a number of important announcements for those employed by the state in his Independence Day address here.
He made the announcement that he would raise the amount of dearness of the employees of the state government by 3 percent to bring it in line with the Central government with starting January 1, 2022.

Around 9.38 million state employees as well as panchayat service and other pensioners and employees of the government are likely to be eligible for this benefit.

Patel stated in his Independence Day speech that 71 lakh NFSA card holders of 250 talukas of the state will receive one kg of grams per month, per card, at a reduced rate.The benefits will be extended from the 50 talukas.

The current eligibility criteria for a place in the National Food Security Act (NFSA) currently has a limit on income of $10,000 per month.This is set to be raised to 15,000 rupees.

He stated that in order to promote the green energy in the state electric buses with no pollution from the air will be put into service on the most famous routes such as Dwarka, Ambaji, and Statue of Unity.He further announced that 1,200 buses that comply with BS-6 will be put in service for which a sum of Rs 367 crore is allocated.

He also stated ATMs will be set up at the bus stations of 50 in the state to ensure the convenience of citizens.

Testing of the water quality of the estuaries of the rivers that flow into the Gulf of Khambhat will be conducted with modern equipment such as Real Time Coastal Water Monitoring System under the Encore Project with the assistance of World Bank.

Patel also gave Rs 3 crore to the district level hospital with 50 beds with trauma center facilities in Ektanagar and Kevadia Colony.
