Sydney 13 August, Sydney : Although Chris Lynn has registered himself as a marquee player in the ILT20 in the UAE’s ILT20, he will still require a No-Objection Certificate (NOC) from Cricket Australia, a move that many are sceptical about given that the country hosts their Big Bash League (BBL) in operation at the same time.Lynn is one of the biggest stars of the BBL was forced to quit Brisbane Heat ahead of the next edition of the tournament.Then the the former Australia captain Ian Chappell has said that If he were in Lynn’s shoes and didn’t have an NOC for playing in ILT20 in the UAE, he would have taken Cricket Australia (CA) to court.Presently, Lynn neither has a contract with Cricket Australia nor with his state side Queensland.
“To me, then, you return to the World Series Cricket days, in which the board was taken to the court to discuss the restraint of trade.Is it a restriction of trade? In Chris Lynn’s instance and if he doesn’t have an agreement with Cricket Australia or Cricket Queensland What’s stopping him? If I were Chris Lynn and I wanted to play in the UAE I’d bring them to the court.I do not believe Cricket Australia would have a chance in hell.It’s going to have to be a restriction of trade.You’re not signing him up however you’re not letting him play,” Chappell was quoted as saying by Wide World of Sports.
In the context of Lynn Chappell’s views, he thinks that international cricket has a serious issue of maintaining players and coping with the increasing number of T20 leagues across the globe.”I believe that the majority of the players who are older will be offered opportunities from that region, and that will be a major issue for countries like Australia which have a large number of excellent players, as well as for those who aren’t able to give their players at the highest rates.”
“Then you’re faced with the issue of the IPL franchises having teams in different leagues across the globe.If you’ve got a good IPL contract and your choice is between Australia and your IPL franchise’s UAE team, do you really want to risk your IPL contract at risk?”
Chappell who played 75 matches for Australia and believes that the growth of T20 leagues in a rapid manner can cause massive harm to the game of cricket as well as its future.”I do not think there’s any doubt that this is the case.To begin with If you’re honest, you are able to be able to play Test cricket between eight teams.”

“To me, this entire issue has been on my radar for quite some time and I don’t have any empathy with the administration.(Test cricket) won’t die in my lifetime.But who will play it? This is the biggest question.If you don’t have the top players are Test cricket worth watching? It’s probably not.Test cricket is an excellent game, but it needs to be played well.”
