Google Meet updated with new features, after merging with Duo

San Francisco, Aug 11 : After declaring that Google has merged two of its video-calling appsDuo and Meet Duo and Meet -to form one platform the tech giant stated that this update gives users access to updated features, such as meeting scheduling, joining and joining virtual backgrounds, chat in-meeting and much more, in addition to your existing video-calling features.
The company also said that additional meeting features allow users to initiate a video call with their entire study group , or to join with their colleagues on a regular time.

Before they attend a meeting, users can alter the background of their meeting or use visual effects.

In the course of the meeting participants can also make use of the chat feature and captions to find more ways to be involved.

“We have also launched live sharing on Google Meet.Live sharing will allow everyone in the meeting to communicate with the content being shared.” Dave Citron, Director of Product Management, Google Duo and Google Meet, said in a blog post.

“So whether you’re watching videos on YouTube or curating your own playlist on Spotify or playing with your friends playing games such as Heads Up!, UNO! Mobile, or Kahoot! In an ice-breaker that everyone is in a position to participate in on the fun,” Citron added.

In the last couple of weeks, the company announced it had begun rolling these features into the Duo app.And now users are beginning see their app’s name and icon changed to Google Meet.

The upgrade will be available throughout the month on tablet and mobile devices.It will be available later for all other devices.

To ensure an easy transition, make sure you ensure that your app is updated to the most recent version.
