Hyderabad 11 August : Many thousands of participants took part in the Freedom Run organised across Telangana on Thursday.The enthusiasm and patriotic spirit dominated the race that was conducted in every district.
Ministers lawmakers, MPs state legislators, and other elected representatives commenced the race.
The freedom run was carried out in different areas of Hyderabad and the other districts of the police department in the course of the ‘Swatantra Bharata Vjrotsava Dwi Saptaham or the two-week long celebrations organised by the state government in order to celebrate the 75th anniversary of Independence.
The 5K Freedom Run was conducted from the newly opened Integrated Command and Control Centre at Banjara Hills in Hyderabad.State Home Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali flagged off the race along with Minister for Animal Husbandry, T.Srinivas Yadav.
MLA D.Nagender, Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar, Hyderabad Police Commissioner C.V.Anand, and other officials took part in the program.
The participants, which included guests, took part in a warm-up and also danced to the popular tunes.
With national flags in the air, men, women and children took part in the contest.
The run started from the Police Integrated Command & Control Centre to NTR Bhavan and back in the same way.Police had put in place traffic restrictions to facilitate the smooth running of the race.
In Hyderabad’s old city of Hyderabad in Hyderabad, in Hyderabad, a Freedom Run was organised from Falaknuma Palace to Charminar.
The four-kilometer-long race was launched by the Assistant Chief of Police Shaik Jahangeer.
Assembly Speaker Pocharam Srinivas Reddy participated in Freedom Run in the Banswada town of Kamareddy district.
In his speech, he paid rich tributes to the freedom fighters.
He claimed that Mahatma Gandhi, along with many other freedom fighters were involved in the movement to bring the right to freedom India from the shackles of foreign rule.”We are all living our lives in freedom today thanks to the sacrifices of famous personalities,” he said.
Minister for Agriculture Niranjan Reddy participated in the Freedom Run in Wanaparthy.
District collector Shaik Yasmeen Basha as well as other officials also participated in the race.Minister Shaik Yasmeen Basha said at the time that independence is not just a celebrations for just one day.
The minister stated that the effort to bring the country back to freedom were started by the predecessors 225 years ago.because of the sacrifices they made the country gained Independence 75 years ago, on the 15th of August in 1947.
The minister explained that the government of the state was organizing various events in the course of the celebrations that run from August 8 until August 22.
The state government also distributes 1.20 crore flags of the national flag free of cost throughout the state.The distribution program will continue until August 14th.
Chief Minister K.Chandrasekhar Rao on Monday officially launched the two-week celebrations by raising the national flag during an event that was glittering at Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC).
