Mumbai 11 August : Veteran actor and actor from television and film Satish Shah recently posted photos of himself on social media account where he is seen waving the Indian flag. But his claim is what has led to Internet users offering Satish Shah with fact-checks.The actor stated that the flag in the photo is one his mother received in the Quit India Movement in 1942.
The netizens did not waste time to correct the actor, and also to point out that the flag of the nation was not present in the form it was in in 1942.”Who can tell him that this flag was not present, in this form, in 1942?” A user wrote.
“A tiny amount of research and due diligence could have saved you from the humiliation of being proved incorrect,” another user said.
One user wrote “Indrawadhan” to remind viewers of Maya Sarabhai from the film ‘Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai’, in which Satish co-starred with Ratna Pathak Shah.
The original version of the flag featured an Charkha symbol in the middle, instead of the Ashok Chakra.
A few days prior to the date that India changed its status to Independent on August 15th 1947, a redesigned version of the Swaraj flag was selected.
