The petition of Nair was filed before the local court in Kochi was denied and, following that, she sought the help of the high court.

When the petition was first brought before the High Court last month, it inquired what rights she had to request Suresh’s confessional record and her lawyer responded that Nair believed that her name was included in the statement and that’s why she wanted the copy.

In addition, since Suresh made a confessional declaration before an magistrate in June, she herself has revealed fragments of information that are mentioned in it, including accusations against the Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, his wife and daughter of engaging in wrongdoing.

Nair is accused of having swindled a few influential individuals to the amount of 70 lakh rupees offering to become business partners or offering the installation of solar energy units on their behalf, as well as receiving in advance payment for this.

This solar fraud that saw the Oommen Chandy-led Congress government (2011-16) go down in an instant after the Left which was then headed by CPI-M state Secretary Vijayan, used hammers and tongs at Chandy after a few of his employees were discovered to be near Nair.
