The State of Tennessee reports 16.86 lakh vaccines given in the 33rd mega Covid-19 vaccination camps

Chennai 8 August : As as many as 16.86 lakh people were vaccinated in Covid-19 vaccination camps of 50,000 that were held throughout Tamil Nadu as part of the 33rd mega vaccination camp that began on September 12 2021.
In a statement issued on Monday the health department stated that 95.94 percent of the population over 18 years old have had their first shot of vaccine, while 89.37 percent received their second dose of vaccine.

Tamil Nadu Health Minister Ma Subramanian said to IANS: “The mega health camps that are held across the state have assisted in the vaccination of 90 percent of the populace in the state.”

The Minister also called on individuals to show up to take vaccinations for their children and stated that 3,59,17,783 individuals are eligible for vaccines to prevent disease in the state.

He declared that the government will provide vaccines at no cost of cost for the next 52 days in the course of the celebration of the 75th Independence Day celebrations of the country.

Ma Subramanian while speaking to IANS told IANS: “People of the state must avail of this free, preventive vaccine to be a part of the 75th Independence day celebrations of the nation.You can choose to take the vaccine at the regular vaccination camps or the massive vaccine camps that take place in every alternate week.”

The next mega vaccination camp will take place in the state on the 21st of August.

The Minister stated that the SARS-CoV2 virus had been constantly evolving and it was essential to ensure that people were vaccinations against it.
