Bhubaneswar 8 Aug : Union Home Minister Amit Shah who’s on a 2-day visit to Odidha and offered prayers at Lingaraj temple in the morning.It is the last day of the Monday of the holy Odia month of Shrawan.Shah spent around 20 minutes in the temple grounds and offered a special ritual.When he left the temple, Shah signed the visitors book that was kept by the priest of his family.
“I am extremely happy to be able to witness the darshan of Mahadev in the famous Lingaraj temple in Bhubaneswar during the holy month of Shrawan.It is a historic site of Indian culture where every rock is a marvellous work of art of old Indian craftmanship,” tweeted Shah.
Minister of education for the Union Dharmendra Pradhan, Bhubaneswar MP Aparajita Sarangi, party spokesperson Sambit Patra, and other senior leaders were with Shah during his visit to the shrine of shiva.
He was then served breakfast at Odisha BJP president Sameer Mohanty’s house.
Then, Shah visited Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose’s birthplace in Cuttack.
He will also be attending an event to mark the 75th anniversary of an Odia daily newspaper at the Indoor Stadium in Cuttack.
The minister of home is expected to go to the Odisha BJP office in Bhubaneswar in which he will meet with senior party leaders.In the evening he is scheduled to attend a reading of Modi@20 at the Mayfair hotel before returning to Delhi.
Shah was spotted in Bhubaneswar on the night of approximately 1.30 a.m.to an enthusiastic reception from BJP workers and party leaders.Despite a delay in his arrival, a huge number of BJP workers flocked to the airport to greet their leader.
In addition MP Aparajita Sarangi accused the government of a violation of protocol by the Odisha government during Shah’s visit to the state.”MoS (home) Tusharkanti Behera was not present as the Union Home Minister came to his home in Odisha.Why did the DGP not present to welcome Shah?” Sarangi inquired.
Only the secretary home was present to receive him.In these circumstances the home secretary has not been to the airport.she also asked.
The BJP leader stated: “Despite Odisha being a non-NDA-governed state the government of the union has been adamant about Odisha and has always stood with Odisha’s state.”
Secure arrangements have been put in place in the twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack to facilitate Shah’s visit.
