The Ugly Side Of Stars (ians Column: B-town)

The Dirty Side of Stars (IANS Column B-Town)

By Vinod Mirani On the 11th of August, on a Friday two major movies will hit the screens at the same time: Akshay Kumar’s ‘Raksha Bandhan” and Aamir Khan’s “Laal Singh Chaddha’.This of course isn’t the first time two films of this kind will be competing with one another or more precisely fight for the biggest part of the box office.

The Ugly Side Of Stars (ians Column: B-town)-TeluguStop.com

In the past, before this event occurred, the directors of both films even though they both wished for the success of their own film, were not known to criticize the other and their movies. There was no personal animosity, and the Hindi saying was always true: Sabka bhala ho lekin mera jyada ha (Let everybody benefit, however let me try my best).

The instances of two big films competing against one in the past few years: ‘Bajirao Mstani and ‘Dilwale “Aitraaz” and “Veer Zaara’, ‘Taare Zmeen Par and ‘Welcome “Lagaan” and “Gadar: Ek Prem Katha’, Ghayal and ‘Dil’ and many more similar examples.

Like many other films, even major stars make a mess every now and then, but the truth is that it’s the film in totality that makes a difference and not based on the person who stars.

The most famous instances in the history of Hindi cinema according to my knowledge are ‘Sholay’ as well as ‘Jai Santoshi Maa’ which were both released on the same day on August 15 1975.Both became blockbusters.

The director of “Jai Santoshi maa” even was the highest income tax payer of the fiscal year.

In the event that there are movies of two stars or two well-known makers, released at the same time, often both films are successful, but in other cases the one is better than the other.

The moviegoer is the one who ultimately decides, not to miss the film that he is more interested in.It could mean the difference between opening
collection of films that have one over another, however, that’s not the final.

The films of “Jai Santoshi Maa” were superior to “Sholay” at first, and also its acceptance. That’s how the business of film operates and how people express their preferences.

Of course the film industry has an unsavory trait that is prevalent across directors, producers and actors as well as further down the line. When a film comes out on a Friday, and fails and is a total failure, everyone else of the family is silently cheers and
celebrates.

It’s a vicious cycle. The one who celebrates the other’s failure is at the receiving end when the film goes on the market.

However, they’re all friends for the remainder of the time. This is not logical in the end, actually.

The worst thing is taking place now, as two films of major stars are scheduled to release on the 11th of August. This has brought to light the industry’s pettyness. The formation of opposing groups on social media platforms and bots are in the midst of it especially on Twitter two camps one for “Raksha Bandhan as well as the other one for Laal Singh Chaddha are going through films or other. It’s a no-holds-barred battle and sometimes even personal.

Shouldn’t they instead be promoting the work of their own director, instead? That’s the essence of the game.Make the other person appear smaller, so you can appear better! Both of the celebrities, Aamir Khan and Akshay Kumar are in the business since the end of the last century, making films at regularly scheduled intervals (Akshay’s intervals are shorter, but) and have made it until now.Does slandering one another aid their films?

The social media campaign is about why you should not watch another actor’s film.In the instance of “Laal Singh Chaddha’, an Aamir Khan’s film, the premise (if you can refer to it as that) is to not watch his film due to the fact that it is anti-national! Aamir Khan promoters label Akshay anti-Hindu due to the fact that in one of his films”OMG: Oh My God’ in which it is suggested that milk shouldn’t be wasted by pouring it over an idol, but instead, it should be used to feed hungry and hungry people.

In response, Aamir Khan is being accused of making a film that is anti-Hindu”PK”! Both films were a huge success. However, those who are on social media should be aware that Akshay and Aamir take on the roles they were given.

They can’t be blamed for their characters or the scripts written by others for them.

Other issues, such as the majority of subjects that are discussed in Aamir Khan’s cult television show”Satyamev Jayate,” that played with the religious beliefs of the majority of viewers.

Apart from that Aamir’s Turkey visit and meeting with the nation’s ‘anti-India president is being criticized and the assertion that his film “Dangal” generated an economic profit of 1100 crore rupees is considered to be money laundering.Internet users are playing with their imaginations with the most absurd thoughts!

It’s a known fact that film and actor actors engage people to promote their causes.

This is that they create a false impression and to spread negative information on other actors. The issue with brigades like this is that they aren’t directed on how to do their work. You’ve read one article you’ve been through all of them. The same thing happens similar fonts, the similar absence of grammar.

In addition the insult, some people get so stressed out that they begin using the most offensive words.

Do the stars would like to be seen via social media?

The film industry in general and the stars in particular, aren’t getting the support of the public and support anymore, let alone having a loyal fan base.Being a villain is an era of the past.Sad that the stars are required to manipulate journalists who are weak or pay publishers for their promotion.

We’ve got an entire generation of reporters who cover an event of a celebrity more to snap photos with the person than to perform their job!

Recently, we’ve seen a number of big-name films fail in several weeks and the same stars which audiences would be awash on the first day.Akashy Kumar, Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan -All have not been able to create similar magic. Why do the actors and producers choose to publish false collection figures, or inflated ones, even though the film isn’t doing well?

I believe that it is because they aren’t in contact with the feelings of the people of the world. They fail to stand up for their tribe in the moment of need.

People have noticed this, and have lost respect for the celebrities they adored.

Consider the example of Sushant Singh Rajput, or the case of Kangna Ranaut.

One is now dead and Kangana has not only lost her home, but also her lucrative career. Both were loved by the hearts of the people around them.

Their fellow film-goers and especially the stars did them wrong by not standing up for them!

You think that your film will be able to run through the other film? If you’re not marketing your own film to ensure it is able to draw an audience, you’re in the process of tearing down the other film!

It is a risky business to make predictions in the world of films. However, that’s my experience throughout my life.If one of the two films receives better reviews “Lal Singh Chadddha” will be the one to choose. It’s a matter of whether or not to boycott.(Disclaimer that morchas, miscreants and stoning cinemas are not considered in the decision-making process.)

A fan will never question the background of his idol’s star.He places him on an edifice. What celebrities, playing games on social media shows their true colors as well as their education, background and the way of life.

This could raise the issue of: What would have happened if they hadn’t become celebrities?
