Srinagar 5 August : Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant.Governor Manoj Sinha on Friday inaugurated the 150-bed Ujala Cygnus Kashmir Superspeciality Hospital in Nowgam. The Lieutenant Governor stated that the new state-of-the art hospital equipped with all the latest healthcare facilities, will help strengthen the efforts of the government of providing quality healthcare to the citizens of Jammu and Kashmir as well as creating employment opportunities for local residents.
The LG has stated that protecting the health of citizens is the main obligation of the Administration.
“The UT is partnering with well-known healthcare firms by bringing private players on board and supporting all of these efforts to close the health gap to provide access to affordable and accessible health services for all kinds of society.” explained the Lieutenant Governor.
The Governor highlighted the important advancements taken in the healthcare sector The Lt Governor said: “Jammu and Kashmir, which was once struggling to meet the health requirements of the population is now becoming one of the top states/UTs in different health indicators.
“Even after more than 67 years of Independence in the past, there were just three medical schools in Jammu and Kashmir.
Under the direction of Premier Narendra Modi, seven new medical colleges have been established in the Union Territory in just eight years.J&K has the advantage of being the first Union Territory in the entire country with two AIIMS.” he said.
