New Delhi, Aug 5 : A number of Congress lawmakers including Rahul Gandhi who was detained on Friday by the Delhi Police after they carried in a protest against the Central government in between the Parliament House and Rashtrapati Bhavan in the capital city of India.Congress President Rahul Gandhi, who was speaking to journalists prior to being detained He claimed that the Delhi Police of manhandling the party members.
“We are here today to discuss the issue of unemployment and price increases.We wanted to move forward , but the police would not let us,”Gandhi said.
When asked about MPs being abused, he said, “That is okay.I’m content to be manipulated.Our job is to fight these forces.Our task is to ensure that Indian democracy is secured.Our mission is to highlight concerns of the people such as unemployment and price hikes, and we’re doing it.”
