A crucial step has finally been taken in the months-long war between Ukraine and Russia.In this context, Russia has taken a step back.
Russia has agreed to reduce its military operations near the Ukrainian capital, Kiev, near the northern city of Chernivtsi.Ukraine agreed to Russia’s demands.

Ukraine, on the other hand, said it would try to evacuate civilians from three cities in the south.
Deputy Prime Minister Irina Vareshchuk said 880 people had left Mariupol a day earlier without any agreement.
