Bhubaneswar : , Dec 30, 2012 – Naveen Patnaik, Odisha Chief Minister has requested that District Collectors keep in touch with Missionaries of Charity organizations in the state.
Patnaik directed the Collectors not to allow any inmate from such organizations, particularly in terms of food security or health-related distress, said Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), in a statement released on Thursday.
He stated that funds from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund can be used for any purpose, ” he said.
The Chief Minister’s directive comes after the Centre’s “refusal” to renew registration of Missionaries of Charity in accordance with the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act of (FCRA), for failing to meet the eligibility requirements under FCRA 2010 & Foreign Contribution Regulation Rules of (FCRR).
Missionaries of Charity runs several orphanages and leprosy homes in Odisha.
