This strong response was received by Todd Greenberg (ACA CEO), who stated that there are no changes to the schedule.
While the fourth Ashes Test will be held at Sydney Cricket Ground (Hobart), the fifth and last Ashes match is at Bellerive Oval in Bellerive Oval.

Vaughan suggested that the remainder of Ashes games could also be played at MCG to minimize the risks to the players, families and support staff.

Current Boxing Day Test is being held at the MCG.

Four people from the English camp, two support staff members and two family members, tested positive for COVID on Monday. This caused a panic in the group and forced all members of the tour to take Rapid Antigen tests before Day 2.Also, play was delayed for half an hour.

Greenberg responded to Vaughan’s remarks by saying that the ACA is “confident” and hopeful the games will go ahead as planned.

Greenberg stated to SEN Test Cricket that he didn’t believe there was any reason for the schedule to be changed.

We are confident that we will continue doing what is scheduled and we have no problems with the protocol in Sydney. The protocols in Sydney don’t differ from those in Melbourne. It’s difficult to make changes in a large ecosystem like cricket. There are many stakeholders, fans, and venues.

Greenberg stated, “We are optimistic and confident that the summer will go as planned.”
