Perth, December 14, : .The Perth Scorchers beat Hobart Hurricanes 53 runs thanks to Mitchell Marsh’s masterclass maiden century, which set up the match for them here on Tuesday.Marsh was the top scorer for Australia’s T20 World Cup win over New Zealand.He scored an unbeaten 100 on just 60 deliveries during the 12th round of the ongoing BBL 11.Marsh smashed six fours, five sixes, and a total of 20 runs to propel Scorchers up to 182/5 during Marsh’s impressive performance.
Laurie Evans, an Englishman who was paired with Marsh in the fifth wicket stand of 67 runs, contributed a useful 40 out of 24 balls.
With 2/33 runs in his four overs, Nathan Ellis of Hurricanes was the top pick bowler for his team.
The Hurricanes responded by batting a meagre 129 runs in just 19 overs.They lost the match by 53 runs.Their top scorer was Ben McDermott with 41 runs off 29.
For the Scorchers, England Tymal Mills picked up the maximum three wickets for 23 in four overs.Similarly, Ashton Agar (2/21) and Andrew Tye (2/31) also bagged a couple of scalps.
