Varanasi (Dec 14th, 2008) Prime Minister NarendraModi asked Chief Ministers to BJP ruled States Tuesday to keep their focus on good governance while maintaining a connection with party workers.Modi addressed a marathon four-and-a half-hour meeting with 12 Chief Ministers and the Deputy Chief Ministers of Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
Modi stressed that good governance is essential to ensure his re-election.
They were also instructed to ensure that welfare programs are implemented in an orderly manner, and that the beneficiaries receive the benefits.
Modi asked Chief Ministers for their cooperation with the party cadres as well as communication between party workers and legislators.
Sources claim that the Prime Minister sought feedback from all the Chief Ministers on the current state of development within their respective states.
He patiently heard out the problems and hurdles of various states.
The Chief Ministers gave their report about the state of affairs in their respective states and also the steps taken to resolve issues.
Modi was particularly concerned about states that are going to polls next year and gave inputs on how to further improve the situation.
“The Prime Minister was perfectly clued in with ground realities in each state and gave us valuable advice on key issues.The marathon meeting gave all of us ample opportunity for discussion,” said one of the Chief Ministers who did not wish to be named.
