Balu, a 47-year-old Coimbatore ace, used all of his experience and won a second place in the top Indian Touring Cars Class after starting at P3 (reverse grid).He was a “wet “ace” because he had to race in heavy rains that afternoon.Balu won Saturday’s first race.He started behind Jeet Jhabakah (Rayo Racing) and played a waiting game, before he got a jump on two Hyderabad drivers to win the second.
Dillon (18) drove an excellent race, starting in the second place on the reverse grid.He was able to win his maiden victory in this class against a fast finisher Suriyavarathan, Coimbatore, and Viswas Vijayaraj, Negare.
Ghorpade won the lights-to flag race to complete the double.The time limit was cut to six laps, instead of the eight originally scheduled.
Shahan Ali Mohsin from Agra, second in the race, received a 10-second penalty after speeding in pitlane.This moved him up to sixth.
Viswas Vijayaraj, from Neglere, was moved to second and Ashwin Datta (Chennai), to third by the penalty.
Charen Chandran, a private entry from ‘oimbatore won the Super Stock race while Rithvik Thomas (Race Concepts), from Bengaluru stopped Deepak’Ravikumar (Performance Racing’s) winning streak of the Indian Junior Touring Cars category with Race-2 tod’y.
After surviving close finishes, Salem’s Sai Sanjay (Chennai), and Riteshrai (Chennai), won one race each in the Volkswagen Polo Category double-header.
Raghul Rangasamy, a veteran Chennai driver (Quest Motorsport), won the Formula LGB 1300 race starting at P5 from Bengaluru’s Tijil Raho (Momentum Motorsport), and Viswas Vijayaraj from DTS Racing.
Fahad Kutty, Mumbai: He won 2 of the 3 races while finishing on the podium for the second in the MRF Saloon Cars class.
Although the day’s program was delayed by rains that fell overnight and today, it dried quickly in sunny sunshine later.
