The central government has alerted the states in the wake of the slow rise in coronavirus cases and the escalation of Omicron cases.The Center recently alerted all the states as well as the Union Territories.
The Central Medical Health Department has made it clear that it will immediately look into the issue of imposing night curfews to curb the spread of the Omicron.
The number of Omicron cases is increasing in Union Territories and states.
The central govt authorities could not find the whereabouts of some of the passengers who arrived at airports like Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Bangalore and Hyderabad from abroad.Most of the passengers are switching off their mobile phones or giving false addresses.
With this, it has become a very difficult task for the Center and the states to follow up on their situation.
The union govt said that night curfew should be declared immediately, and cantonment zones should be identified to check the suspects and speed up the vaccination process.
Covid positivity rate is more than 10 per cent in 8 districts in 3 states.Omicron is spreading rapidly to 67 countries around the world.
Despite 25 countries banning flights from South Africa, the severity of the cases is increasing.
