Hundreds are feared to have died and thousands remain without power.Overnight, at least 30 tornadoes were reported.

Andy Beshear, Kentucky governor said that “we believe that our death toll will exceed 50 Kentuckians” during a Saturday morning briefing on storm damage and state response.
Beshear stated, “It’s been one of most difficult nights in Kentucky history.” “Many areas were hit in hard-to-put words ways.”
Beshear called the tornadoes that struck Kentucky the “most severe tornado event in Kentucky history” and declared an emergency.
Michael Dossett, Kentucky’s Director of Emergency Management, spoke to media networks and described the destruction caused by the tornadoes in Kentucky as “one the darkest days of its history.”
Dossett stated that this would be “one of the largest, most severe disasters Kentucky has ever faced.” He urged residents to stay indoors, except in an emergency.
Dossett stated that all assets are headed to Western Kentucky.This is one of the most affected areas.
Two deaths were reported as of this morning in Monette and one in a nearby town, Blankenship said.
Power is also out in the town, and Blankenship said he does not know when it will be back.
As of 8:30 a.m.(1330 GMT) on Saturday, over 136,000 customers alone in Tennessee, are without power, show data from PowerOutage.US reports.
An Amazon warehouse in Edwardsville, Illinois, partially collapsed in the storm.
The town’s police chief Mike Fillback confirmed in a press conference Saturday morning at least two people were dead, and rescue efforts are going slowly for the safety of first responders.
Fillback said dozens of people were able to leave the scene without serious injury, although it is impossible to give an exact number since some were able to walk away without assistance.
