Mumbai, Dec 6, : India’s opener Mayank Agarwal stated Monday that he feels good about getting back to scoring. He said that his focus now is on South Africa, which starts December 26 .
.Agarwal was adjudged the ‘Player Of The Match’ for India’s second Test win by 372 runs.
I should have converted the sixty runs, but I didn’t think about the second hundred. We will relish the abroad challenge in South Africa, so we’re looking forward to that too,” said Agarwal in the post-match presentation ceremony.
Agarwal further explained the mindset of his game in Mumbai after a not-so-memorable outing in Kanpur.
” I didn’t change much from Kanpur.I just had the mental discipline to keep going.Although the technique won’t be perfect all the time, it will not guarantee runs. But the key is the will to fight.”
The 30-year-old left by recalling the advice from legendary batter Sunil Gavaskar and Rahul Dravid.
“Rahul Bhai explained to me that technique should not be considered mid-series and said that this is the best technique for me.Sunny sir advised me to keep my bat low in the innings and open up my left shoulder.”
