Lucknow, Nov 24, : , Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay down the foundation stone for the international Airport at Jewar in Gautam Buddha Nagar on Wednesday.When completed, this will be the fifth international airport of Uttar Pradesh.
Just weeks before the UP Assembly elections are announced, the much-anticipated project is being launched.
Modi had inaugurated Kushinagar’s international airport on October 20, A second international airport is being built in Ayodhya.
After the Indira Gandhi International airport, the Jewar airport will become the second international airport in Delhi-NCR.
Strategically located, the airport will serve Delhi, Noida and Ghaziabad as well as the surrounding areas.
The first phase of the airport’s construction is underway at a cost exceeding Rs 10,050 crore.The airport’s first phase will be spread over 1,300 hectares and can accommodate around 1.2 million passengers per year.Work is expected to be completed in 2024.
The airport has passenger terminals with 70m capacity.The 186 airport stands.
A cargo terminal with one-million-tonne capacity will connect to the Yamuna Expressway and Western Peripheral Expressway.Noida Metro, Delhi-Mumbai Expressway and the proposed 800 km high-speed Delhi–Varanasi rail link.
The airport will have two runways that are CAT III compliant, the north runway and south runway.
The complex will also include an airport hotel, VVIP terminals, an open-access fuel plant, an airport rescue and firefighters building, and a big rain harvesting pool.
The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority will soon invite tenders for the construction a 1,000-acre film community near the upcoming Jewar Airport in Uttar Pradesh.
As concessionaire, the international bidder Zurich Airport International AG will execute it.
Officials claim that all preparations have been made for the November 25th event.A massive tent measuring over 12 lakh square feet has already been constructed.
On this occasion, the Prime Minister will also address the crowd.
The event is expected to attract more than 2.5 million people.The event will feature a grand tent and stage, as well as a lounge for the Prime Minister, a helicopter pad, and asphalt roads to the venue.
