New Delhi, Nov 19, : .After Prime Minister NarendraModi declared that he would not support the three Farm Laws, Muslim leaders demanded Friday the withdrawal of the controversial Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA).People from the Muslim Community and other segments of society are most opposed to the CAA, claiming that it is discriminatory.
Jamaat-e-Islami Hind President Syed Sadatullah Hussaini said that “We urge the government now to also examine the other anti-people laws, such as CAA-NRC, CAA-NRC, etc.and make sure they are removed at their earliest. It is a great relief that Prime Minister Narendra Modi finally agreed to meet the needs of farmers.
The losses could have been avoided if it had been done sooner.
Arshad Madani (chief of Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind) welcomed the repealing of the three farm laws and stated in a statement that the CAA movement had encouraged farmers to take action against the laws.
It is time for the government to also remove the CAA.Our farmers deserve to be commended for their great sacrifices. All efforts were made to control the peasant movement as all the other movements throughout the country.Conspiracies were also hatched in order to split the peasants.
They made many sacrifices but remained firm in their resolve.
“Once more, the truth is out that success can be attained if an organization runs with honesty and perseverance for a valid cause.”
He was grateful for the farmer’s efforts and said that the movement had been a success because women, and the elderly too, were able to sit on the streets all day seeking justice.
He urged the Centre to reject the CAA and said that “our Prime Minister states that our structure is democratic”, so he must pay close attention to laws regarding Muslims.
The CAA, like the agri-laws, should be also withdrawn.
Navaid Hamid (President of Majlis-eMushawarat) stated that all draconian laws including UAPA and CAA must be withdrawn.
Minister whose son was implicated in killing farmers in Lakhimpur Kheri should be fired immediately and all farmers who were killed during the Kisan Andolan must receive adequate compensation.
