Delhi Police captures 2 cyber-fraudster gangs hailing from Jharkhand and Bihar

New Delhi, November 19, : .The cyber cell of the Delhi Police Crime Branch has captured two cyber-fraudster gangs, one from Jharkhand, and another from Bihar, for tricking people under pretense of offering them better returns.

This was a Friday statement made by an official.
The official stated that a C.R.complaint was filed.Park police station concerning a fraud amounting to Rs.59,65,000 via online transfer for GST fee processing fee and plan fee.This was done under the pretense of high returns.

To investigate this case, the Delhi Police’s top officials formed a group of ten officers.

After obtaining the necessary information from the accounts of all the suspects, technical surveillance was carried out on each of the potential suspects.

A raid was then conducted in various locations of Bihar.The first accused Birendra Prasad Sh, who is a Jharkhand resident, was arrested.

He revealed to police that he had given his account to Deepak Kumar Verma (a Bihar resident) for a fixed percentage of all funds.

The police team then conducted technical surveillance to gather crucial information which led them directly to Deepak who was being held in Patna (Bihar).

Six mobile phones, eight SIM Cards, seven HDFC Bank accounts and a Rs 14.5 lakh debit freeze were recovered by the police.Deepak, the accused, revealed during interrogation that he had taken the account opening kit from each of the seven HDFC Bank account holders and withdrew money using different ATM machines.After receiving the debit freeze on his accounts, he threw away the SIM cards for account opening and the keypad phones to drain near Patna in Bihar.

According to the accused, he defrauded customers who were interested in investing their money by taking at least Rs 10 Lakh.According to the official, the police had registered an investigation under section 419 and Section 420 of Indian Penal Code.
