The politics of Duggirala in the Guntur district has become interesting with the rejoin of YCP MPTC into TDP.Umadevi, who contested as an MPTC candidate on behalf of YCP from Duggirala, alleged that the YCP had threatened her from the day she has filed her nomination.She said that the YCP activists threatened her to withdraw the nomination.
Also, she said that they came late at night and forced her to withdraw the nomination.
She alleged that they threatened to kill her.Speaking on this occasion, MPTC Umadevi said that as she could not bear the pressure, she joined the YCP after filing the nomination.She said that the YCP activists offered a house plot, a job to her husband and cash.But in fact, they did not give anything.
With this, Umadevi rejoined the TDP along with her husband.They apologized to the party leaders.
They said that they would stay in Telugu Desam Party itself.
TDP leaders have said that tempting the candidates and threatening to cancel welfare schemes is a vicious act.The TDP leaders said that as they have competed for 14 seats, they won 9.It remains to be seen how the YSRCP leaders would react to this.
