The Telangana state government is issuing new ration cards to the beneficiaries in the state from today.As per the reports, the program continues till July 30.Telangana State Civil Supplies Minister Gangula Kamalakar officially inaugurated the distribution of new ration cards today in the Jayashankar Bhupalpally district.Speaking on this occasion, Minister Gangula Kamalakar recalled that CM KCR is relentlessly striving for developing Telangana.
Minister Gangula Kamalakar said that the state civil supplies department introduced this scheme to ensure that the poor get nutritious food.The minister said ration cards would be issued to the beneficiaries at each zonal centre by ministers, local MLAs and MLCs across the state.
Minister Gangula said that the state government received three lakh nine thousand eighty-three applications.With these new ration cards, 8,65,430 beneficiaries will get 6 kg of rice every month.
In this order, the Civil Supplies Department will provide 5,200 metric tonnes per month in addition to the actual quota of 62,400 metric tonnes of rice per annum.
Of these three lakh nine thousand eighty-three applications, the highest number of ration card applications were received from Hyderabad, Rangareddy and Medchal districts.
