Nayanthara’s 2018 Tamil female-oriented film ‘Kolamavu Kokila’ which was directed by debutant Nelson Dilipkumar ended up as a blockbuster hit at the box office.This black comedy film was bankrolled by A.Subhashkaran under the banner Lyca Productions.This film was later dubbed in Telugu as ‘Co Co Kokila’.
Now the latest news is that ‘Kolamaavu Kokila’ is going to be remade in Bollywood on a prestigious note and acclaimed director Anand.L.Rai has bagged the remake rights of the film.Another interesting update is that Bollywood actress Janhvi Kapoor is likely to portray the role played by Nayantara in the original.
Janhvi will be seen in the role of a girl who accidentally gets caught in a drug racket and smuggles drugs.This film also marks the directorial debut of Siddharth Sengupta in Bollywood and the filming is expected to kick-start in February 2021.
