New Delhi, Aug 8 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday stated that the Vice-President who resigned M.Venkaiah Naidu’s time in office could end, but his legacy will lead the country for the years to come.In the midst of letting Rajya Sabha bid farewell to its Chairman and Vice-President Naidu The Prime Minister Modi stated: “You (Naidu) have always claimed that you’ve retired from politics, but not from public life.Your time in the post may be ending, but your experience will continue to influence the nation and those of public life such as me will gain from your lessons for many years to come.
“Talking about Naidu’s passion for the Indian languages the Prime Minister stated: “One of the admirable things about Naidu Ji is his love for Indian languages.This is evident in the way he was the head of the House.
He was a key contributor to the increased efficiency of the Upper House.
“The one-liners of Naidu Ji are well-known.They are witliners.His command of language has always been excellent”.
Prime Minister Modi pointed out that there is substance and depth in the words of Naidu declares.”When we celebrate the 15th of August this year this will be the day of Independence Day when the President,Vice-President Speaker and Prime Minister were born after Independence.In addition, all of them come from humble background,” he said.
Prime Minister Modi added that as Vice-President Naidu was able to devote an enormous amount of time to the welfare of youth and a large portion of his programs were focused on Yuva Shakti.
In a discussion about his relationship with Naidu, Vice President PM Modi stated that he has worked with Naidu closely throughout the years and witnessed him take on various duties and complete every one of them with extreme commitment.
