Los Angeles, Aug 9 : The late Olivia Newton-John’s co-star in ‘Grease’ John “Danny Zuko” Travolta posted on social media to offer a special tribute to her.
“My dearest Olivia You helped make every aspect of our lives better” Travolta wrote in an interview with “Variety”.

“Your impact was amazing.I am so grateful to you.We will meet again down the road and we’ll meet again.You were mine from the first time I saw you , and for ever! Your Danny, your John!”

Newton-John, who later appeared in the news due to her fight against cancer as well as for her fitness diva status died on her ranch in southern California on Monday at the age of 73.

Travolta and Newton-John featured in ‘Grease’ as the lead actors and delivered two of their most famous films as Danny Zuko and Sandy Olsson respectively.The film, which was written and directed by Randal Kleiser was a huge success in the world of film and television with an estimated $366 million in the world box office according to Variety.

The single ‘Hopelessly Devoted You”, which was performed by Newton-John, won a nomination in the Oscars for best original song.The soundtrack to the film was the second most popular album of 1978 in the US surpassing the soundtrack of the Travolta-starring film ‘Saturday Night Fever’.

After the release of “Grease,” Travolta and Newton-John continued to be lifelong friends.They would often get together to celebrate the film.

At a 40th anniversary screening of “Grease” in the year 2018, the two remembered their iconic dance routines on the red carpet.

“We practiced so many times in the period of three weeks to ensure that it was right,” Travolta told ‘Variety in the year 2000.”And you can see it in the intensity of that film that we were so eager to make it perfect that I believe it was similar to being in school.Every day was a routine that included dance, song recording, rehearsals and writing scenes.It was a plethora of things to do.”
