Bringing much needed respite from the sweltering heat, heavy rains lashed many parts of Hyderabad on Sunday evening.It rained in areas around Kukatpally, Manikonda, Gachibowli, Suchitra, Kompally and several other places of the city.
However, the sudden downpour caused inconvenience to passengers and pedestrians who were out on the roads.Water logging and sporadic disruptions in power supply were reported from many parts of the city.
The Hyderabad Meteorological Centre has stated that there is a possibility of thunder, lightning and gusty winds in the districts of Hyderabad, Rangareddy, Medchal Malkajgiri and Vikarabad for the next couple of hours.
Wind is expected to blow at a speed of 30 to 40 kilometers per hour.
According to IMD forecast, rains are likely to continue in Hyderabad for two more days.Adilabad, Komurambhim Asifabad, Mancheryala, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jayashankar Bhupalapalli, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Hanumakonda, Janagam, Siddipet, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri, Ranga Reddy, Hyderabad, Medchal Malkajgiri, Vikarabad and Sangareddy will receive rains today.
The IMD has announced the possibility of light to moderate rains in Medak, Kamareddy, Mahabubnagar, Nagar Kurnool and Vanaparthi districts.
Rains are predicted for Jogulamba Gadwal, Nagar Kurnool, Narayanapet, Vanaparthi, Mahabubnagar, Medchal Malkajgiri, Rangareddy, Hyderabad, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri, Khammam, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Mahabubabad, Jayashankar Bhupalappalli, Mulugu, Manchiryala, Komarambhim Asifabad and Adilabad districts, on Tuesday.
