The action film ‘Gandeevadhari Arjuna,’ starring Varun Tej, was released on August 25.Initially, the audience had mixed feelings about it, but unfortunately, it didn’t manage to win them over.
Surprisingly, the movie didn’t perform well at the box office. However, recent revelations shed light on Varun Tej’s admirable gesture of taking reduced fees for his films to maintain strong relationships with his producers.
Varun Tej has consistently supported his producers by accepting lower fees than what he could have earned. The actor, known for films like ‘GaddhalaKonda Ganesh,’ valued the storytelling over a hefty paycheck.Even after hits like ‘Fidaa’ and ‘Tholiprema,’ Varun decided to take a 50% cut in his fees for movies such as ‘Antariksham’ and ‘Gandeevadhari Arjuna.’
In his last film ‘Ghani,’ which also ended up being a box office disappointment, Varun Tej went a step further. He chose not to take his remuneration and returned the fee following the poor box office response.Later, he teamed up with the same producer for his next project, ‘Operation Valentine.’
For his most recent film, ‘Gandeevadhari Arjuna,’ Varun Tej again reduced his fee.The film’s producers had a fixed budget and a pre-agreed payment arrangement before production began. However, as the budget expanded during filming, Varun graciously agreed to cut down his fee to ensure the film’s timely completion.
On the professional front, Varun Tej is set to appear in his 14th film titled ‘Matka.’ The movie features notable roles played by Meenakshi Chaudhary and Nora Fatehi.‘Matka’ will be released in multiple languages including Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam.Additionally, Varun is working on ‘Operation Valentine’ alongside Manushi Chillar, scheduled for release on December 8.This film marks Manushi Chillar’s debut in the South Indian film industry.
