The governments of various states including the Union government are moving towards Green India by replacing diesel-fueled and petrol-fueled vehicles with electric vehicles.Also, the Union govt has announced that it is ready to provide loans to the people who are willing to buy electric vehicles.

Against this backdrop, the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam Board of Trustees Chairman YV Subbareddy has said that it has been decided to replace Thirumala-Tirupati free buses with electric buses as Tirumala has been declared a Green Hills.

The TTD Board of Trustees meeting was held on Saturday at the Annamayya Bhavan in Thirumala.

YV Subbareddy, along with several board members and EO Dr KS Jawahar Reddy, briefed the media on the decisions taken at the meeting as well as the programs implemented during their two-year tenure.

YV Subbareddy said that as part of this, AP CM YS Jagan allowed purchasing 100 electric RTC buses.

He also said that the owners of private taxis plying between Thirumala and Tirupathi should contact TTD to get a loan from the bank and help them buy electric vehicles as Tirumala has been declared as Green Hills.
