Telangana Polls : Former Congress MLA Vishnuvardhan Reddy Set to Join BRS

In a significant political development, former Congress MLA Vishnuvardhan Reddy, son of P Janardhan Reddy, has been extended an invitation to join the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS).

This move comes after Reddys expectations for a Congress ticket from the Jubilee Hills constituency were not met, as it was allocated to former cricketer Mohammed Azharuddin in the second list of candidates.

BRS Minister T Harish Rao personally visited Vishnuvardhan at his residence, assuring him of a respectable position within the party.After the meeting, Vishnuvardhan expressed his intention to join the BRS in the near future.

He shared his perspective, stating, "We have dedicated 52 years of our lives to the Congress party, and its disheartening to find ourselves in this situation.I never imagined such a turn of events.

With no mention in the second list and the state of affairs at Gandhi Bhavan, I have decided to align with the BRS.I had a fruitful discussion with KCR regarding this decision." Interestingly, Vishnuvardhans sister, P Vijaya Reddy, is slated to represent the Congress from the Khairatabad Assembly constituency.

The Election Commission of India has announced that the Telangana Assembly polls are scheduled for November 30, with the vote count set for December 3.The political landscape in Telangana is shaping up for a keenly contested election, with the BJP, the incumbent Bharat Rashtra Samithi, and the Congress vying for supremacy.
