Telangana polls : BJP Bigwigs Gear Up for Energetic Campaign

This month, influential leaders from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) are set to make their mark in Telanganas Assembly election campaign.

Starting from 20th October, Union Minister of Women and Children Welfare, Smriti Irani, will lead the way, followed by Union Home Minister Amit Shah on 26th October.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma is anticipated on 27th October, while Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will arrive on 31st October. These visits indicate that the BJP may employ a successful strategy used during the GHMC elections in December 2020.

Back then, the BJP secured a strong second position with 48 seats, a significant leap from just four in the previous election. The TRS (now BRS) saw a surprising drop from 99 seats in 2016 to 56.AIMIM maintained 44 seats in both elections.Leaders like Adityanath and Shah actively campaigned during the GHMC elections in 2020.

Furthermore, a recent meeting between Union Tourism Minister and Telangana BJP president G Kishan Reddy, along with BJP OBC Morcha national president K Laxman, and Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan indicates a continuation of this strategic approach. In 2020, Kishan Reddy and Laxman sought Pawan Kalyans support just before the GHMC elections, and this approach is being repeated now.Kishan Reddy emphasized that the ruling BRS seemed to rely heavily on financial resources for the Assembly elections in Telangana. He welcomed new members into the party and called for a lesson to be taught to both BRS and Congress, describing them as corrupt, dynasty-oriented parties.

Meanwhile, suspended BJP MLA T Raja Singh challenged AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi to announce a candidate for the Goshamahal Assembly constituency.Singh alleged that AIMIM was refraining from fielding a candidate in Goshamahal to support the BRS candidate.

He recalled that TPCC president Revanth Reddy had posed the same question to Owaisi.Overall, the BJP is leaving no stone unturned to secure victory in the Assembly elections.

This meeting with Pawan Kalyan is seen as a part of their comprehensive strategy, with the aim to gain support from Pawan Kalyans followers, particularly in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) limits..
