The Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Bill to bifurcate the state is likely to be introduced in Parliament on Tuesday, according to present indications.On Sunday evening Prime Minister Office sent the bill for President Approval and Pranab will be expected to take the decision by end of today and refers it to Parliament If president approves the bill today and gives permission for it to be passed in the parliament, it will land in the parliament on Tuesday and enter Rajya Sabha on Wednesday.
Some say, as Pranabh Mukherjee is a congress man he will simply sign the bill and give a permission to it to be passed in the parliament.But Seemandhra legislators are still pinning hopes on Pranab and believes that Pranabh is not a rubber stamp of high command and he will definitely reject the bill on the terms of its rejection in the state assembly.
In the wake of this development, the BJP, whose support is critical for the passage of the bill in Parliament, sent mixed signals on Sunday.Party senior leader M Venkaiah Naidu, who is busy in back-channel talks with Union Minister Jairam Ramesh, said, “The BJP will examine the bill before taking a decision on supporting it.” Its known that The Union Cabinet had on Friday approved the draft bill for creation of Telangana by bifurcating Andhra Pradesh
