Their mission is to revolutionize imaging services using advanced earth observation satellites.

The mission will be accomplished by developing, orbiting and designing a fifteen-satellite constellation.

Each satellite would not weigh less than 150kg.

Five members of the team are responsible for guiding GalaxEye Space Solutions Pvt Ltd., a startup that develops space technology. They include Suyash Singh (Co-Founder and CEO), Denil Chawda (Co-Founder and CTO), Rakshit Bhhatt (Vice President, Computing), Kishan Thakkar (Vice President Product Development) Pranit Mehta (Vice President Business Development).

We became interested in space technology, and we joined the team as a group in 2020.Chawda explained to IANS that the company was formed in May 2021.

Mehta said that the promoters (Founding members) are made up of Team Avishkar Hyperloop students who work on technologies to realize Hyperloop.

Chawda stated that GalaxEye would create the satellite and source all the parts.

The spacecraft will then be outsourced to GalaxEye.

We are currently in the middle phase of design. The payload component will be innovative, and we’ll develop new types of sensors. In Q3 2023, the first satellite will go into orbit.

Chawda stated that our constellation of satellites would be available in five years.

GalaxEye will conduct an aerial test as part of its preparations for payloads in March 2022.

Mehta stated that after proving our technology, we now have a prototype to validate our product. This would give us more confidence and reduce the risk of potentially dangerous technologies.

“Apart from core data sets, GalaxEye will also provide complementary data to our customers. We want to give fine resolution images,” Chawda said.

The company is also in talks with Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and Defence Research Development Organisation (DRDO).

He said each satellite will have a life span of five years.

According to Mehta, the current global market size for earth observation satellite images is about $3.5-4 billion and expected to grow to about $7.5 billion over the next 10 years.

Queried about fund raising and plans for further funds Mehta said: “We are currently Pre-Seed funded, with the previous round led by Speciale Invest.Apart from that, the team has won grants – Tide 2.0 Challenge Grant by CIIE.CO, TANSEED Grant by StartupTN and Meity Startup Grant.”

With a headcount of about 25, GalaxEye is looking to expand and get more domain expertise to accelerate its journey towards putting its satellite in space.
