Lucknow 12 August : A former BJP minister and Samajwadi Party (SP) leader, Swami Prasad Maurya has declared that he will soon file a defamation lawsuit against the Noida Police Commissioner, who had revealed that he (Maurya) had offered an official vehicle pass to the self-proclaimed leader Shrikant Tyagi, without investigating the issue. “The police commissioner has taken my name without investigating.I’ll file a defamation lawsuit against the police commissioner.It was the commissioner of police, not Shrikant Tyagi who swore my name.” claimed Maurya.
He claimed that because his base of supporters had grown his support base had grown, the BJP was scared, and this was the reason his name was being mentioned over and over again.
“When I was in the BJP How did Shrikant Tyagi become a member? It’s time to check.This is the politic of the BJP and that’s why my name was mentioned.
At times in the STF case, and occasionally in the Shrikant case.How did he get the permit for his Fortuner car? BJP must reveal this,” Maurya said.
He also claimed that “I myself was given the car sticker today.It’s the same of 2022.What can I do to transfer the pass to someone else?”
Shrikant Tyagi, arrested on Tuesday, allegedly assaulting a woman in Noida the city of his birth, was seen wearing a sticker on his car that did not identify the man as an MLA.In the course of interrogation, he allegedly revealed that the sticker on his vehicle was given by Swami Prasad Maurya.
Swami Prasad Maurya had earlier firmly rejected Tyagi’s claims.He also accused the BJP the political party Tyagi claimed to be affiliated with, of misleading the people with lies and deceit.
Maurya who is a member of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council, said he last saw Tyagi in the year 2017.In the past, Tyagi was introducing himself as an BJP leader.
Since since then there has not been any contact between Tyagi with the self-professed BJP worker, claimed Maurya.
“I haven’t met him in the last four years.
Why do the BJP constantly claiming that I have a connection with him? He took a picture with various BJP bigwigs.Now that they are in front of the public and are blaming the blame on other people,” he charged.
Maurya was a minister in the previous BJP government in the state.He left the BJP in the lead up to of the Assembly elections in the spring of this year, and joined the Samajwadi Party.
He claimed that there was an attempt to discredit him.
“Shrikant had gotten more than dozen security officers.This isn’t possible without the support of the BJP government.Today when the heat is at his back, he is taking the name of Swami Prasad Mauriya under a well-thought-out plot,” Maurya claimed.
The Noida Police on Tuesday arrested Shrikant Tyagi, who identifies himself on social media as an executive member of the national executive of the BJP’s Kisan Morcha along with three other suspects in Uttar Pradesh’s Meerut district.
In the wake of his arrest Tyagi was put in 14 days of judicial detention.
He was arrested under a variety of sections of the Indian Penal Code after he was observed in an online video abusing and assaulting a woman protesting against his construction that he claimed was illegal in the housing society in Noida.
