New Delhi, Aug 23 : Congress chief Sonia Gandhi on Tuesday, met President Droupadi Murmu in New Delhi.This was the first tour of Congress President following the election of Murmu was elected President.
A tweet issued by the Secretariat of the President’s Secretariat stated, “President, Indian National Congress Sonia Gandhi called on President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan.”
Murmu is the second female and the first president of the tribal region of the nation.The Congress did not endorse her candidacy when she was in the midst of the election and instead supported Yashwant Sinha who was the candidate of the opposition joint.
Congress sources claimed that this was a courtesy trip.
Murmu delivered her presidential speech on the evening of Independence Day and talked about India’s vibrant democracy, the successful of the story of Covid vaccines, Atmanirbhar Bharat and the development of the economy of the country following the pandemic.
