According to Idnani, “The Kerala Story” is not a film that people will necessarily enjoy or find entertaining. When the cast signed on for the movie, they were aware that it would affect certain individuals.

However, they believed that as long as the film reached the right audience and helped those who needed it, that would be the validation they sought.

When Idnani watched the film for the first time, she was heartbroken.

As she saw the testimonials and heard the parents of the victims speaking, she couldn’t help but be deeply moved. She had not intended to cry, but by the end of the film, tears were streaming down her face.

The reaction of her parents was equally difficult for Idnani. They couldn’t look her in the eye, their eyes heavy with emotion.

After the movie ended, her mother thanked the director, Sudipto Sen, expressing that she had no idea such things were happening.Despite the heavy subject matter, her parents also felt a sense of pride, acknowledging the bravery it took for her to choose this challenging debut role in a new language.

Interestingly, Idnani did not immediately agree to be a part of the film. She took time to think about it because she understood the complexities of the situation. She had many questions in her mind. However, she relied on her gut feeling and decided to go ahead with it, trusting her instincts.
