Toronto 13th September : The debut of director Shubham Yogi’s feature film ‘Kacchey Limbu’ debuted to a raucous reception at the current Toronto International Festival here.Based upon gali (street) cricket in India, “Kacchey Limbu” is the tale of India’s aspirational youngsters showing the courage to enter new fields against their parents’ wishes.It’s about siblings and breaking gender barriers.And it’s about Indian “jugaad bazi’ (makeshift arrangements).
All this takes place in the raucous mohalla (colony) life in India.
Produced by Jyoti Deshpande, Pranjal Khandhdiya and Neha Anand, the story unfolds in the”underarm premier league” matches played in the parks of Mumbai.

“My film is about the right to claim your (Indian youth’s) space in the universe.
In my movie, they discover the courage to voice their voice heard,” said director Shubham Yogi during the premiere of the film.
He stated that he picked the medium of sport “because (underarm) cricket is an aspect of daily life in Mumbai.”
Radhika Madan, the initial choice to play the lead role stated: “I found the script to be relatable, as a lot of women in India do not have the resources to dream.However, at the conclusion of the film they are confident enough to dream big and to realize their dreams.”
The actress stated that she along with director attended an underarm cricket competition to pick up their game.
Rajat Barmecha said that he was ready for an adventure on the road when he received the news that he was selected to play the character of Akash in the film.
Concerning the unveiling of the film, the director stated that he and his team were enjoying the atmosphere in Toronto and that they would think about the release in the future.
