We have been reading about the national symbols of the country since childhood.Like our national flag is tricolour, national anthem is ‘Jana Gana Mana…’ and national song is Vande Mataram, national animal is tiger and national bird is peacock, national flower is lotus and national fruit is mango.Similarly our national emblem is Ashoka Pillar. This national symbol has been taken from the pillar built by Emperor Ashoka at Sarnath. With the coming into force of the Constitution of the country on 26 January 1950, these national symbols were adopted.Well… the Ashoka pillar has ‘Satyamev Jayate’ written on it, if not, then from where was this motto taken? From the police to the army, in dress and medals, on national and state buildings, in coins and notes, on government documents, on passports and other documents with national identity, you will see the Ashoka Pillar as a national emblem. It is taken from the pillar erected by Emperor Ashoka. In the national emblem, there are four lions on this pillar, but only three lions are visible from the front.
The Dharma Chakra is made in front and a horse and a bull are also made. Now coming to its motto Satyamev Jayate.
Satyameva Jayate is considered to be the ‘national motto’ of India, which means – “Truth only wins”.It is said that Pandit Madanmohan Malviya has played an important role in bringing ‘Satyamev Jayate’ to the national board and spreading its propaganda.
The aphorism of Satyameva Jayate is taken from the Mundaka-Upanishad.This is basically the opening part of the well-known mantra 3.1.6 of the Mundaka-Upanishad.The mantra of Mundaka-Upanishad from which this part has been taken is – Satyameva Jayate Nanritam Satyen Pantha Vitato Devayanah / Yenakramantryo hyaptakamo yatra tattasya paramam nidhanam //.According to upanishads, orgiin, the meaning of this whole mantra is – ‘Truth’ alone wins, not untruth. It is through ‘Truth’ that the journey-path of the gods was expanded. This is the path through which the sages of Aptakam (whose wishes have been fulfilled) attain the ultimate goal of life the supreme abode of ‘Truth’.
The phrase ‘Satyameva Jayate’ from the Upanishad is included in the national emblem as a motto, so it cannot be used personally. This Ashoka pillar can be seen under the crest.
This motto along with the national emblem Ashoka Pillar is also printed in Indian notes and coins.Telugu,Andhra Pradesh,Telugu Political News,Telugu News,Telugu elections, satyamev jayate, satyameva jayate, national emblem of india, satyameva jayate meaning in telugu, satyameva jayate meaning in hindi, satyameva jayate meaning, satyameva jayate origin, satyameva jayate came from upanishads, satyameva jayate upanishad, interesting facts about national emblem, national emblem of india facts, facts about national emblem of india, unknown facts about national emblem of india #SatyamevaJayate #NationalEmblemofIndia #TeluguFacts Pid:1873957
