Holidays play a major role in bringing audience to the theaters. The very recent biggie Janatha Garage is a good example of that.
The film had couple of holidays in it’s first week and made best use of them.
Sankranthi and Dussehra are two big festival seasons in Telugu states. That’s the reason why filmmakers generally target these seasons as potential release time for their movies.
On an unfortunate note, unlike the recent past years, no top actor is releasing his film for this Dussehra.
Ram Charan’s Dhruva missed a golden opportunity to score big in first week, after getting postponed from October 7th.
Check what a October 7th release could have brought for Dhruva :
oct 7 – (mid period of Dussehra holidays)
Oct 8 – Second Saturday
Oct 9 – Sunday/Bathukamma
Oct 10 – Holiday
Oct 11 – Dussehra
However, Nagachaitanya’s Premam is mostly scheduled for October 7th.It’s the only big release for this Dussehra, competing with small films like Eedu Gold Ehe, Abhinetri and Mana Oori Ramayanam.
