Jaipur : , Nov 23, 2003 – The parents of Jaipur’s 14-year old girl from Bhutiya Village in Udaipur denied their daughter entry after she decided not to marry on November 21. The mother of the child, much to the delight of Child Welfare Committee (CWC), officials said that her daughter was dead because she refused to marry and damaged our village reputation.
According to officials, the mother continued abusing her child while the teenager kept crying.
After her parents had abandoned her, the CWC provided refuge for her.After she asked the officials, they brought her back to her parents.
According to information, Sangeeta Beniwal (CWC chairperson) was the one who forced the girl to marry on Sunday.She displayed courage.Also, she sent her picture of the wedding invitation and said that she was determined to continue her education and not marry so young.
Beniwal instructed the Udaipur district collector and other officials, to assess the situation and end the marriage.
With the assistance of CWC she was then counselled and taken to BalikaGrah in Udaipur, as her parents had abandoned her.
The officials took the girl to Udaipur on Monday when she wanted to meet Beniwal.
After she started missing her family, the chairperson of CWC dropped her at home.Her parents refused her entry.
Panchayat officers and other villagers had assembled at the residence of the girl to demand public anguish.
However, she did not apologize to her parents and Beniwal asked them to return her, stating that they would not accept her.
Beniwal stated that her mother was worried because her daughter decided to finish her education.
She spoke to IANS and said that she tried to persuade the parents, but they refused.So, the family brought the girl home to Udaipur Balika Gramh.
She will receive a quality education at this school and we’ll wait to see her parents return or if they take over full responsibility.
