New Delhi, Aug 25 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to make two-day trip to Gujarat beginning on the 27th of August, during the course of which he will officially inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of various development projects and participate in various events.On August 27 the Prime Minister will make a speech Khadi Utsav on the Sabarmati Riverfront in Ahmedabad.
On August 28 , the morning of Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate the Smriti Van Memorial in Bhuj and, later at 12 noon, he will lay the foundation stone and officially launch various development initiatives in Bhuj.
In the evening the Prime Minister will speak at an event in Gandhinagar to mark the celebration of forty years of Suzuki in India.
In the context of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav the ‘Khadi Utsav is being held in honor of khadi and its significance in the struggle for freedom.The Utsav will take place in the Sabarmati Riverfront, Ahmedabad and will see 7,500 women Khadi makers from different districts of Gujarat spinning charkha live in the same space and at the same time.
In the course of the ceremony the Prime Minister will officially inaugurate the brand new office of the Gujarat Rajya Khadi Gramodyog Board and a bridge that crosses the foot located in Sabarmati.
The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) stated that it is an ongoing goal of the Prime Minister to promote Khadi and to raise awareness about Khadi products, and promote the usage of Khadi among young people.
“As as a consequence of the initiatives of the PM, from 2014, the sale of Khadi in India has seen a quadruple increase in the country, while in Gujarat the sales of Khadi has seen an astounding eightfold rise,” the PMO said.
The Prime Minister is scheduled to officially inaugurate the “Smriti Van Memorial’ in Bhuj district.
It was constructed in the area of approximately 470 acres to commemorate the spirit of determination displayed by the people following the deaths of approximately 13,000 people who lost their lives in the 2001 earthquake that was the epicenter of the earthquake in Bhuj.The Memorial is adorned with the names of the people who lost their lives in the earthquake.
The Prime Minister will officially open and lay the foundation stones for projects that will cost approximately 4400 crores in Bhuj.
He is scheduled to inaugurate the Kachchh Branch Canal of Sardar Sarovar Project.
Canal will assist in the provision of irrigation services in Kachchh as well as drinking water in all 948 villages and 10 towns of the Kachchh district.
The Prime Minister is scheduled to open many other projects including the new Automated Milk Processing and Packing Plant of Sarhad Dairy, Regional Science Centre, Bhuj Dr.Baba Saheb Ambedkar Convention Centre in Gandhidham, Veer Bal Smarak at Anjar, Bhuj 2 Substation at Nakhatrana etc.
The Prime Minister will put the foundation stone in several projects that are worth more than Rs 1500 crore such as the Bhuj-Bhimasar road.
In Gandhinagar the Prime Minister will deliver an event that will mark the celebration of forty years of Suzuki in India.
At the time of the ceremony the Prime Minister will lay foundation stone of two major initiatives of the Suzuki group in India The Suzuki Motor Gujarat Electric Vehicle Battery Manufacturing Facility in Hansalpur, Gujarat and Maruti Suzuki’s new manufacturing facility for vehicles in Kharkhoda, Haryana.
